you have to rev it up and it will start to charge after the fields energize.. if you strart it and hold the rpm above 1000 it should start to charge
Great video. But , does the green and black connector come wit da MSD? You made it seem so simple. Thank you
yeah.. green and purple lead. It should
thank you for this video brother!
"Dude, you need to take a chemistry class" --- ROFL classically true!! You rock, bro! :P
thanks for this!
THANK YOU
mine had 24 bb's half were silver the other half were dark, think you should alternate them as you re-install them as they are not the same size
Thank you so much man. You are a great teacher and that was very informative. Going to go get my z28 running now
Amazing videos! I have a 1987 Chevy V10. It over heated and blew a hose 40 miles after purchasing it. Fixed it on the side of the road. The it died for good 5 miles later. Here's my problem....I swapped the 305tbi for a 78 carbed 350. Got it all back together and it starts and runs. However, the alternator makes a really bad noise when it's hooked to the pos battery and also, the neg. battery post gets really hot. When I disconnect the pos lead to the alt. the noise goes away and the neg doesn't get hot. It may be a little warm. But obviously it's not charging the battery. The alternator is good, and I just changed the pig tail to the alt (after watching your video) and saw how wasted the connector was. I was hopeful that the corroded pigtail was the issue. Nope! Everything has good grounds and I thought I had the wiring right, but I'm not the wiring GOD that you are! What do you think the problem could be? Thanks for posting all of you videos and any help that you can give me.
the only time they do that is from a bad connection .. you have to use test wires for big cables sometimes. Just because they look good from the outside you can’t see the condition on the inside of the big cables. I would just replace both to eliminate that possible issue instantly
@@chriscraft77022 Thanks. I took those off and they look like they aren't in the best shape. So, I will replace those. While checking those I started finding other questionable wires. And the previous owners taped the bejesus out of them. After cutting it loose, I started chasing and separating the old tbi wires from the tangled mess. I also found that the wiring harness on driver's side firewall is melted on the right side of the box. I'm not sure what under the dash looks like. I do know it has trailer brakes, etc. So, it looks like I need to watch the hell out of this video several times and try to wire my 87 just like my 85. Thanks again for the help and killer repair vids.
This video deserves more likes great video thanks
Thanks for the grinder tip!! My horn button wouldn’t fit and I thought it was hitting something or I was doing something wrong 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome
Wonder how long before the hole in plastic solenoid plunger cracks open and the rod falls out. The cheap plastic used overseas nowadays is beyond junk. Hope it keeps working for you and you get more than one season out of it. That motor really slams the plastic plunger into the metal rod. Something has to give unfortunately. Hope you bought the 4 door kit so you have some spares. I put aftermarket power windows in my '96 Silverado and I ordered 2 kits when I made the purchase. Good thing because the driver's motor crapped out after ~2 years.
I bought the cheap ones because I don’t daily that Jeep. They still work perfect but will drain the battery if you leave it for a few days
@@chriscraft77022 Oh damn- thanks for telling me that. I was thinking of buying a 4-door set for my classic Corvette so I'd have two extra actuators. I could live with having to replace them but NOT a dead battery! Car only comes out for car shows and an occasional drive so I'll have to check for a more reputable setup. Thanks again for that input.
@@ambiguous3886 I HAVE CLASSIC CARS..I WOULD NEVER PUT THIS ON ONE
@@chriscraft77022 The reason this made sense to me is that my Corvette doesn't have power locks and when I take it to car shows things have gotten so out of hand with the lawlessness that I lock the doors whenever I walk away from it to look at the other cars and talk to friends. Each time I do that I risk of accidently scratching the paint with the door lock key. I figured everything would be out of sight so no one would be the wiser and it might mitigate an accident and/ or some malcontent just opening the door and getting in. Since you mentioned your battery gets drained and goes dead on a regular basis I realized that the electronic module that receives the signal from the key fob is always on and just waiting to respond to a key fob lock or unlock press. I started wondering why ALL cars with power accessories similar to locks don't have this problem and realized that factory units are designed for real cars by real engineers and the receiver circuitry used and designed for the unit has super low current requirements and are designed for this not to happen. These online Chinese units are probably some crude receiver that is normally used where external power is constantly supplied and they just stock that in a case and called it a day not caring if people get stuck. My heated seats failed 2 years ago and the repair was cost prohibitive so I bought a cheap pair that plug into the power outlets in the car. Turn them off and leave them plugged in and the battery is dead in the car in 2 days. Go figure.
Yo video is the truth proshade
And if we want to control the second speed through the air conditioner compressor line, knowing that it gives a positive line
look up trinary switch
@@chriscraft77022 Sorry, I don't understand what you mean, but do you have a blueprint?
Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos and help you have brought to the car community. Without videos like yours my chevelle would be a paper weight. Thank you for all the educational videos good sir
👍
Very good explanation thanks
Thanks man, this helped a ton!
What size fuse did you use before the horn relay on the power wire
The bar you have over the driver/passenger seat. Did that come with the kit? Just bought and installed the same kit in my dad’s 99 and it doesn’t have that bar. It having the sun rider feature I thought it would come with the kit.
mine came with it
What if compacitor has 4 blades instead of two

On the capacitor in this video, what is the little button thing next to the terminals?

I just recently bought 1977 doors to replace my 1984 doors can I take the wing windows out of my 1984 doors and put them in the 1977 doors
Now we know where u put it🤣🇩🇰
I’m getting this message but I ran all new wires from my speakers to my amp and I jsut got this message today for some reason and I checked all wires there still good
Ty again
Anyone know for this specific kit with that remote; the brown and white wires what buttons they correspond to? Im trying to get the horn for panic and also the markers to flash at least for locking; I know this kit is cheap but I know im onto something
Do the water plugs always look like that or can it be with a bolt head I have a 1981 ford f150 ranger and I unscrewed a bolt with a bolt head and idk if what I did is correct
Without a relay to protect the switch... won't the 20amp switch burn sooner or later due to the several times you crank the engine/starter with the car 100amp battery (for example)? (great video, thanks!)
Just wanted to thank you for putting together such a great video. One of the best I’ve seen.
The guy that had this kit and the real bunny kit, he ditched the rear for the fake one cus it actually fitted better than the bunny did lol
that is good to know…
@chriscraft77022 I'm still debating on buying the same kit as this.. or just extra wider flares... are you planning to overlay more fiberglass mat in the back of each piece?
@@damnitdang oh yeah.. those pieces are way too thin.. not sure when I’m going to start on the project.. I’m burnt out on real cars.. been messing with nitro rc on my other channel 😀
@chriscraft77022 did you tape it all on the Z to see if it fits pretty good? I'm tempted to buy a set. But being so thin. I might just do wide fender flares
@@damnitdang I actually do custom body work so it doesn’t matter to me. I will make it work .. videos coming one day.. I have been trying to buy that car for 20 years.. it all happened so fast
can a ground be shorted?
Hello Chris - have you got letter referencing for Hella relays? I have a P and an S on my headlight washer relay which I know is not working but would like to remove the cover and test. and have the facility to do it in the future. I have the European DIN chart numbers from 1 to 88 and the wiring colour codes for European DIN standard. There is a 72 page pdf file on Hella relays by Hella but not letters P or S. Thanks.
This is the first video that didn't take the frame apart.
when you actually start to do yours( in which you won’t) you will understand
thank you for being easy to understand. i struggle with electrical but you make it seem easy. my 86 300zx thanks you
I have watched a couple of dozen videos explaining relays and I was stilled confused. Your explanation cleared it all out. Great Job! I have subscribed to your channel to see what else I will learn. Thanks for taking the time to break it down so well.
You call people dumb and stupid. Do you realize that most people are first time learners just stumbling onto a video while learning this stuff? How is this some kind of argument in your head that you feel you are arguing with people who are simply watching a video? Makes no sense. That's all in your head. What a crappy way to look at learning.
wiring them other ways is not for beginners you missed the point. once you wire them the basic way.. then you advance to the next level of wiring them however you want
Everyone is a dumbass at something. Until they're not. So, again, you're a dumbass if you just pickup a high current electrical component and jam into some circuit and call it done 😂
@@bororobo3805 the people that are dumb asses are those that don't find joy in helping others. It's awesome to teach and show people and give them skills, Jesus said the best thing is to give people skills. It's the best thing in life to see other people benefit in their life in learning all things that make things simple for them. It's not some sort of dog eat dog world where only the tough survive. You don't purposely try to make people struggle. Everything is simple to teach. A real teacher makes sure the student understands it. A real human being teacher has no sarcasm to make themself seem smarter than someone else. We are all equal. So smart ass or dumb ass comments are the joy of a bad mind
What is bad about jumping 30 to 87 to get car to start ?
Excuse me but how do you call the system of a car that uses this kind of circuit? Is it a car with positive ground or negative ground circuitry? Thanks!
Really glad I came across your channel man I also have a 1302 running strong and plan to build some fun stuff
Great video, thanks
Thank you so much for this! just got a 70 cutlass and was needing a video like this!! This has helped me more than you know!
Do have any i can buy ?
Why does that PURPLE wire look like BLACK 🤣🤣🤣
Sir, I am your subscriber from Indonesia, I want to consult with you, does the worm steer have something called a TORQUE ROD? What is its function actually? Because I have a Worm Steer for an Isuzu Trooper Diesel car where my steer is already heavy and I have replaced the Seal Kit but it is still heavy, the information I got had to be checked on the TORQUE RODS and the TORQUE RODS were modified using a lathe so they are usually lighter Turn the steering wheel of the car. So far this has not been discussed with you. function and use of automotive tubes. ? Thank you, I'm waiting for the answer
